South Korea Approves Arrest of Samsung Heir Over Corruption

The Seoul Central District Court's decision to issue a warrant for Samsung heir Lee Jae-yong, 48, on charges of bribery and other charges in connection to the corruption scandal that has rocked South Korea, according to The Associated Press. The warrant issued on Friday makes Jae-yong the first leader in Samsung's history to be arrested on criminal charges.The court dismissed the prosecutors' request to arrest Park Sang-jin, a president at Samsung Electronics, but said that additional evidence showedd there was enough reason to take Lee into custody as prosecutors can detain him for up to 20 days before formally indicting him.
