Japan's foreign minister called on the civilian leader of Myanmar Aung San Suu Kyi on Friday to guarantee the safe and voluntary return of the Rohingya Muslims that fled persecution and violence in the northern Rakhine state, according to The Washington Post. While Foreign Minister Taro Kono is visiting Myanmar, the Japanese government also announced that it would grant $3 million in order to help facilitate the repatriation of the Rohingya refugees back to Myanmar.
